A few days ago I discovered a fascinating Romanian music. I want to share it with you. Grigore Lese.
If I succeeded to wake your curiosity, you can search more about him.
It is strange how I accidentally found this music, watching the movie
Gunpowder, Treason and Plot (BBC 2004). The action was taking place in Middle Ages England, it’s about the turbulent and bloody descent of Scottish monarchs Mary, Queen of Scots. First I was surprised to listen a music that sounds more and more familiar to me and very touching, like something in the deepest folds of my heart found anancestral resonance. Later I could distinguished the lyrics, it were Romanian! It was unbelievable, particularly because the music and the lyrics, of course, couldn’t have any rational connection with the movie story. But besides of this, I can admit the music was just suitably for the atmosphere, on a certain sensibility level.
Later I found out the movie was shoot in Bucharest and even with some Romanian actors.
